Server 6 months due.

ok guys im sorry to say but come end of may, early june the 6 months paid server is coming to and end and will go offline.

But we have some money still in the kitty for the next 6 months about £200 quid (Stu knows the right amount) as you know for 6 months on a 32 player server it costs around £400 quid to run, also Muiltyplay has offered us a 30% reduction for the next 6 months which is going to bring the costs down a fair bit.

Now we need to know what you guys want to do we have a few options to us.

1. Keep the server as it is?

2. Up the server to a 64 player?

3. Reduce to a less number of players (can be anything i.e 24 as we pay per player slot?

4. Or we call it a day and refund the donations back to all that donated?

as you are fully aware we run by server donations so whatever we do, we do need donations to run as Stu and I just cant afford it on our own (wish we could Very Happy

) but as your are also aware it is completely up to you we never expect you to.

So we really need everyone in the clan to post on what they want to do! and if able to donate towards the server so we can figure out what action to take.

And Thankyou to everyone who donated towards the last 6 months as i think we all agree when i say its been good fun.

Well my view is to keep it at 32 players and donate towards it again because its been fun having a server we can cal home and spend time on it knowing its secure to some extent and a good environment to play in(bar a few moments in the past).
It may not have been full all the time but when it was you know it was worth it for the times it is, and coming the holiday in the next months it might get more interest.
The reason i say stay at 32,is atm bumping upto 64 is more expensive but also less reliable as Multiplay know themselves,more crashes etc,32 is not too less and not too many in my opinion.
Well thats my opinion on the server anyways.

Also if we could get more details on how much cost it is for say 40 or 64 players at this 30% discount or as a pay per slot basis maybe we could change,we nether know.

well - since im new here I dont know much about it.

but 32 server is way fine. 64 ppl servers are true madness.

Im a poor college student, but I will donate what I can. Unfortuantely I doubt this will exceed £10 Sad

As for server size, I think we should stick to 32. I occasionally do well on 32 player sized. If i want the madness of 64 player at a random point (why wouldn't I, im mad) I will just randomly join a 64 player server, unless yous lot are on then im going where you are Wink

im with disturbed on this one, 32 player is more fun, rather than 64 player where you cant play properly.

as for donations i shood be able to make some in the nxt month or so after im done taking care of a couple things

OK folks, 32 player seems to be the general opinion, I reckon we need to raise around £130 to cover the next six months.

Any of you new guys who have not donated but would like to, this is the best time, anything is greatly appreciated and all donations get listed in the teamplay server/donations thread.

in any case, we need donations to be in by around 25 may to take advantage of the savings being offered at the moment.

I will of course take the hit and pay out as before.

Been doing a good search of other UK cservice providers, and although there are a couple of other cheaper servers available, none offer the ability to swap server, ie switch from SF to normal, and indeed move the server to a different game for the day, with this in mind, I think it best to stick with multiplay as we will be able to migrate the server to other games as BF2 sinks in to the shadows- most probably when the new Bf arrives.
