For some random gay reason, my mouse icon occasionaly stays still and does not move, even though my mouse can move since i can see effects (such as start menu lighting up). As a temporary fix to the problem I have enabled mouse trails (set to minimum) just incase my mouse freezes, but it is not a cure. It seems to occur during extensive hard disk activity for some unknown reason. Has anyone else experienced this error and/or encountered a decent fix? Mouse trails suck. Also I have managed to recover the majority of my HDD data so I should be back on shortly when ive sorted out partitions.

yeah, i get that when i use a cordless mouse, thats why i changed back

if its cordless its normally down to batteries been low, so doesnt send enough signal to reciever

nononono. The mouse moves fine, the cursor icon gets stuck, like windows just decides to stop updating the position of the image, but the mouse still moves perfectly fine, you just can't see it. This is an MX1000, it has a battery meter, i charge it every day and when I don't charge it it lasts for a week or two before the batteries die. This is a problem within windows and not the mouse itself Confused

Yeah thats the version I have. It doesn't do it as much now that my second hard drive is no longer operating in PIO mode, but it still does it occasionally under extreme CPU load (PIO kills CPU).

git got major issues with his wireless mouse(same make diferent model).
he couldnt solve them so he switched back to.

i seem to remember a knowlege base article and fix by microshite, it is an XP problem if memory server, do a search of the microshite support pages and u will find the solution.
