Patch 1.2 and BF general problemI tried to install the new patch yesterday with the 1.12 to 1.2 patch. But it came across an error, the error was I didn't had enough room on my HD.So I removed some programms to make some room. After that I tried to reinstall the patch again. Now he said he couldn't find the 1.12 version of BF2. So I tried to reinstall the 1.12 patch and he said he couldn't find the Battlefield 2(tm) map. So I tried to remove the whole game, no luck I couldn't remove it nor reinstall over it. It sits on my HD and can't be removed in any normal uninstalling way. Can't play, can't patch, can't remove and can't reinstall. Does anyone have an idea what happened or what to do? |

i think you gotthe pre-release patch which wasnt final tested,may have screwed up game.
Also a few things. Did u delete/uninstall any bf1942/mod/ea game recently? Reason being they can screw up the registry of BF2 without ur knowledge it happened to me and i had to delete BF2 manually,if knowledge recalls u could try visiting http://www.forumplanet.com/planetbattlefield/ site and search their forums for uninstall of BF2 or bf2 registry help,something along those lines should have details that may help. |

its a pain in the neck when this happens.if disturbeds advice dont work you are going to have to manualy rip it out of your system and then clean up the mess afterwards.( ie- delete bf2 folder, then run cclean to fix reg issues and then start checking that nothing is still there.) |

okay ive had no luck so far but i have found that the patch i got from asusgamer is 366mb. looking at clanforge they have it at 350 mb. im going to d/l it and try repatching i will let you know if it works
( i might need that hammer dave  ).

Thank you for contacting us here at Electronic Arts Technical Support. I’m sorry for the trouble here. This may be caused by corrupted files. Please manually remove the game and do a fresh install. You can manually uninstall the game by removing the files and registry keys associated with it. Be sure to follow these steps exactly as they appear to prevent accidental file/program deletion on your system. To delete the save files: Open My Documents. Right-click on the Battlefield 2 folder and choose Delete. To delete the game files (in the default location): Open My Computer. Open the C drive. Open the Program Files folder. Open the EA GAMES folder. Right-click on the Battlefield 2 folder and choose Delete. Close all open windows. Right-click on the Recycle Bin and choose Empty Recycle Bin. To edit the registry and remove Battlefield 2: Click on the Start button. Click on Run. Type regedit in the text field. Click File and then choose Export. Name the file Backup and make sure the Export Range is set to All. Click Save; you will now be returned to the Registry Editor window. Click the plus sign next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. Click the plus sign next to Software. Click the plus sign next to DICE. Right-click on the Battlefield 2 folder and choose Delete. Click the plus sign next to Electronic Arts. Right-click and choose Delete on any Battlefield 2 folders. Click the plus sign next to Microsoft. Click the plus sign next to Windows. Click the plus sign next to CurrentVersion. Click the plus sign next to Uninstall. Right-click and choose Delete on the key named {04858915-9F49-4B2A-AED4-DC49A7DE6A7B}. Close the Registry Editor. Battlefield 2 should now be completely uninstalled. If anything appears to be working incorrectly after editing the registry, simply double-click on the Backup file on your desktop to restore the old registry. After reinstalling the game, apply the 1.2 patch, then install Special Forces (if you have it), and patch the game again with 1.2. iv got a problem too it shows me shooting/throwing c4 grnades or what ever or releasing bombs from a jet and its actually not it says it is but its not ill have to double click righ mouse button for instance to release the bombs from the jet, its reall annoying |

well as usual i think there will be a hotfix to sort out performance and hardware issues with the patch as they are always generated. |

Damn it,iv just uninstalled the full thing SF and BF2 due to sound probs,im fed up of ben able to hear my teams fire but the enemies doesnt exist no matter if they are in a tank next to me firing.
Running reg cleaner to get rid of it in registry plus my documents so i can try a retail install without any patches on SP to see if its releated to this game only or one of the patches.if not i cant play it until its addressed as im getting ear ache from wierd sound and my play is like iv just started again. |
