broken bf2 cdi really dunno how the hell this happend my cd is kind of like (| |) so im like wtf kinda p*&%$£d off but its in half ! so might not be on bf2 for a while im gonna use my saved up money for ram to get a new cd argh, so angry ! bet it was raptor *mutters* |

i had that happen with a bf cd, so has git.
they just fell apart in the cd drives, it even killed gits cd drive at the time. its poor quality control on eas part. |

there is also probably a no-cd hack out there - so keep ur serial numbers as disks etc can be repalced or imaged | ||

Yeah I use a no-cd work-around from BLEH, mainly because my second copy of bf2 for my lad was a key-only purchase (for £12 which was a bargain). It saves your install disk and speeds up your load times because there's no delay while the cd spins up. I've packaged it up for anyone that want's it... 1 - Download BF2Stuff.zip from here...CLICK ME! and unzip it somewhere (the blh-bf2.mdf & blh-bf2.mds files will need to be left alone after step 4 below). 2 - Install Daemon Tools 3.47 (daemon347.exe) if you don't have it already. I'm a little rusty but I reckon all the defaults should be fine. 3 - Right-click the daemon tools icon in your system tray (near the clock), hover over "Virtual CD/DVD-ROM", on the menu that appears hover over "Device 0:...", then select "Mount image". 4 - Browse to where you saved the blh-bf2 files and select blh-bf2.mds 5 - Put your shiny bf2 DVD back in it's box where it belongs (unless your name is Convilement who should probably use the bin instead  ).
Because this method uses a mini image, i.e. it pretends to be the DVD rather than using a cracked exe, it's entirely PunkBuster friendly. While I'm at it, who's sick of waiting for bf2 to start up because of all the logo and movie crap at the beginning? Just browse to your bf2 install directory, then from there, mods\bf2\movies and rename all the ".bik" files to something appropriate like ".bik.hide" or ".bik.EAGetOnMyNorks". Do the same for mods\xpack\movies. Apologies if I've taught Grandma to suck eggs in this post.

back to the cd problem - well my cpu is overheading, just removed the dogs winter coat from the fan and it was running at about 60 -70 degrees fixed the cooling issues but too late after a bit of serious gamming it over heats and shutdown the system - there is only 1 real soultion buy a new cpu at around 250 notes **(&@#%^&@#&%%@&@ - i have two machines so i though i try out the other graphics card to c if that was the problem - fresh install and all then when i try to run bf2 it dont work, rip two machines apart build another try again - doesn't work well what the f can the problem be ....... oh yes there it is bf2 doesn't support Geforce 4 Ti4400 grahics cards *()*#*&^@&*@&^*@& and my spare machine is mininal spec for bf2 so it runs like poo so until i get a new cpu i can only play until the machines shutsdowns leave 4 1/2 - hour play 4 a couple (the cpu now cold as a baby but still shutsdown) so ill take ur cd problem over mine !!!
ps it could be the mother board !! (dont think so tho wish it was be cheaper )

if you want i can rebuild it from scratch while your on your holidays.
(software and hardware with a full clean up). If you need a new cpu hang on as when i go to newyork i plan on getting one so you could have my old one, 3.2gig-939pin amd, which does fit your box. give me a bell tomorrow as i gotta day off. |

its ok ill be all right was thinking of buying a cpu in the states myself and i go next week !! done full rebuilds
but it can serious blast out 6 plus hours of gamming before it goes, its fine for everything else, i can still throw 50 gigs of muisc accross both systems and let the machine run constantly, its just massive cpu usage over a period of constant time that cause it ( i reckon )
but i will leave it at urs will away so we can determine that it is definalty the cpu |
