1.10 in the making.Spectator mode i see as a new opportunity to track down the hackers and glitchers but also make admin work easier if the person cant play at he time but watch.
1.1.0 patch info so far.....
We continue our march into the Christmas holiday with more and more happening in the Battlefield Universe. This week we will begin public Beta Testing of the 1.10 update. In this update we are adding server options and a few game play enhancements along with a number of bug fixes. Some of these improvements are:
* Fixed Titan wall exploit - Players will no longer be able to exploit into the corridor wall to unfairly defend their titan.
* Spectator Functionality - Players will be able to join a server as a spectator.
* Active Camouflage Update: A bug that caused camouflaged players in medium to long range situations to be more visible than originally intended has been fixed. The IT-33 now functions as it did in the Public Beta. Thanks to former Beta Testers who helped to track down this issue.
* Takao T20 and P33 Pereira Pistols: The maximum rate of fire has been increased on both the EU and PAC pistols. The pistol bullets' damage over distance has also been tweaked to allow for a slightly larger ideal range. Players should find the handgun's effectiveness as a close range panic weapon to be greatly improved.
* Master Server Disconnects: We are adding client side enhancements to eliminate Master Server Disconnect Issues.
* And much more!

Its a shame, i think the pistols are perfect as they are now, especially the revolver. Perhaps it should be one shot kill to the head, but medium range they are already pretty powerful.
The BF2 pistols were far too effective IMHO and give snipers too much advantage. I hope the don't star tcaving to the pressure from the small majority of whiners.

sounds good, rather they sort the lame anti cheat software, but as usual they have probably singed a 6 year deal with spunkbuster.

as long as they sort out some of the random ctd problems
and i do meen random can go 8 maps in a row with no crashs
and then like on sunday every 20 mins even after reboots

It does sound good.
The Active camo needs the help at range, it's perfect up close.
The pistols I really like already, they do next to nothing beyond 10-12m but up close are nice, still the changes should mean they get more use which will be a good thing and I imagine their prime intention with the change.
Spectator mode is a valued and needed addition, as much as you cannot see visual cheat crap on the client end you can certainly see the tell tale signs of someone aimbotting (lol wow no recoil is it sir? see ya!) and knowing people are around the corner (crosshair following the exact path of a player or their head before they even come around the corner).
Another step in the right direction, wont be hard to watch suspect players.

its good in that way yes, but surely ppl will exploit it with teamspeak mates telling friends where the enemy are etc??

Just too slow mate.
You can have a mate tell you there at flag a or flag b, but specifics are almost worthless as you're in the firefight before anyone could verbally tell you where to look.
It's an advantage aye, but it shouldnt make or break the game imo.

problem with your aimbot argument is the netbat
now you can track someone from behind a wall
esecialy if the commander has spoted him
