okay we have a basic policy sussed in that we protect uncappable bases and kick abusers. So what else should we look at stopping/allowing? After this weekend a couple of things come to mind.
1)constant use/hogging of air vehicles- it gets to be annoying and bf2 is not a flight sim.
2) spawn camping- as far as im concerned i think its nothing but advanced statpadding.
im sure theres more but i think we need to get a dicussion going. _________________ ]
As u say constant use of one vehicle on the server is annoying and when it gets to the point they tk for that vehicle or are using it every round on every map which iv seen some do i think this should be taken into account and maybe a warning for overuse and a kick if they continue to tk for that same vehicle. _________________
i agree if 1 person is using say an aircraft for an entire round thats fine but if they then use it again for the next round its unfair as others want to use it aswell, as for camping normal bases i dont really have a problem with that as long as the camper is providing support for troops getting the flag, if just hanging around to rank up the points then its unfair but also a tactic that the defending army has to deal with as any apc/tank can be takin care of with a little teamwork its a catch 22 situation,

by spawn camping im mean literaly that. its people that sit and snipe/grenade/etc the same flag for no tactical reason and are making no effort to get the flag at all. Its harder to define in game as it is part of taking a flag at times. So if we see a guy at doing this for 1/2 the map do we kick or warn or ignore? me i would warn first then boot for repeat behaviour.
the air vehicle use for 1 round and no use for the second sounds reasonable but how do you explain that to the users in a short screen dialog? im not bothered about armour as a squad can easily deal with it if it gets to be annoying,planes/choppers are a different story-especialy if the pilot is any good.
also(rant mode on ) we ask/tell people not to type swearing in to text.
(no hope of ever getting anyone not to swear in voip and its optional so people dont have to listen )
but what do we do if its a tp member doing the same? I have seen some of those messages and they are very hostile at times,far beyond what i would accept from non tp. we are starting to get more regular and younger players on the server.
do we warn the tp player or kick him first as he should know the rules ?
me , i would kick first as it will bring home to people that the tp clan/server is ment to be about something. Also why should others be expected to follow rules we arn't? _________________ ]
to clear this up the server rules are for everyone to follow including TP members they to will be kicked even banned if really bad!!
there is an automatic warning system in place for swearing on the server chat, any and iv noticed a couple of TP members having rows over the server chat will be warned theres a time and place for that and the server chat or forums is not it,
as for the other topics i would warn first then kick if repeated. _________________

um, spawn raping, on warlord me and little demon were on top of a building sniping everything parachuting in, could that be considered as spawn raping? _________________
thats defending Meag. As they have the chance to spawn at the other flag.
As for bad lang then Im not going to say I have not had my turn at it on the server, Like the othe night some dude runs his car into me on purp and punishes me. I lost it with him. Who will police the police? _________________
as far as voice u can switch it off or leave the sqd if they dont like it
but type is displayed to everyone so we need to ensure we all keep it clean
i know i personally swear on the mic too much but i dont type up abusive messages even when i really want to especially when sum nub punish 4 his mistake the best we can do is monitor ourselves- when some1 has a rant we need to remind them that its a firendly server etc
hell we have enough admins so it could even end up with admins kicking admins!( it will drive the point home). dont worry though we are all guilty of being noobish at times its about learning from them that counts. _________________ ]
lwhen this post calms down ill make a list of the server rules and pass it on to stu who could if his got time in the near future add then to the website for everyone to see not just a link to the forums but done in the main page stile just keep this topic on topic if we can _________________

a quick list of admin etiquette should be as follows:-
1: warn the player a few times using both admin messaging in BF2CC and also using say all command in BF2
2:if the player continues, tell them thai this is the last warning and that the player will be kicked if he continues
3:if the player continues then kick him with the appropriate preset kick or custom code if you want to type in exactly why they have been kicked (this should only be the standard kick, not with a time limit as the player may not have seen the warnings), this will allow him to rejoin and apologise or ask why he was kicked.
4:if the player rejoins and continues his actions, he should be kicked for a preset time, either 20 minutes or 3 rounds ETC
5:if the player had rejoined and was being abusive upon rejoin, he should be warned that he will be banned if he continues.......if he does then permanently ban him-we do not want assholes like this on the server and they should be made an example of.
6:If a player is being Racist, using abuasive language against a player, he should be warned immediatley that he will be banned from server and then kicked with a racist language kick, again if he rejoins and continues he collects a permanent ban.
7: Anything other than Racist/Abusive language does not constitue a instant kick or ban from the server and admin powers should not be abused in this way.
a list of minor offences are as follows:-
Baseraping
Spawn Camping
Stat Padding
Chopper whoring-over many rounds
Plane Whoring-over many rounds
Noobtubing (continuiously)
Teamkilling (repeatedly)
anything else similar to the above.
All these instigate rules 1-4 in order.

I have had instances that requred kicks after warning different people repetedly. I put a general message on the server(via bcc) that any further base raping would get earn a kick with instantly after 2 rounds of having to warn people continualy. It was the only way to get people to listen . it worked anb it went back to normal play fairly quickly after 3 people kicked.
I have had regular players (non tp) ask for people to be kicked. normaly i would seek confirmation of the offences from other players. how much confirmation do we need? on 3 occassions ive gone with the players call with out confirmation as I have had appropriate calls of kick/warn from these guys each time. Is that allowed/appropriate?.
(for your info. the two guys who i remmeber are jester14 + oldschoolsoldier- both are team players as far as iv seen).
