lol, been headging my bets with this one and thankfully saw which way the war was going last year.
The 360 hd dvd player was a good little unit (I had one), however the issue with Microsoft was that they did not really get on the fence with any of the HD formats, and only jumped on the HD DVD camp to keep the format war going for their own means (Microsofft want downloads to succeed for HD content as they can charge for movies downloaded using their own networkas/services -XBOX360 for instance).

It is also why they did not introduce the HD DVD drive in to the 360 elite, when clearly the takeup of the PS3 was also as a high end HD player.
As such the sustained format war suited them as advances in ADSL speeds are slowly rolled out enabling this.
-20 gigs+ for HD downloads is still unviable at this point in time.

Personally I am not a fan of one hit box office or streamed downloads, I would rather have a shiny disc I can watch when I like over and over.

-If I have to download it I would do legally of course (cough cough).....
