Hey guy's, i got stalker : shadow of chernobyl today ! i'm installing it now (been out all day) anywa, i cant wait to play it, been tracking it since around 2005 (ish) anyway i'll tell you what its like all in all ! _________________
Aye iv been waiting for this but am sceptiacl about it, can u plz once youve played it tell me about the trading system and the upgrades for items as i hear its a scavenger kind of game not a shop has everything game if get me.
Then if its good ill get it tomoro and maybe get online with it. _________________
I'm also waiting for some good reviews (by ppl I know that is), only multiplayer modes are interesting for me. At least for shooters that is. And I'm not sure if my system can handle it yet.....
Just got it, the installer does a hardware check before allowing you to continue, mine is a crappy system and all where green lights and accepted by the game, sure it may not look the best but hey i dont buy most games for graphics, the gameplay is the most important feature of a game to me.
Limited edition version i got has bonus unlock codes for content,a map and big artwork book/manual and a extra dvd full of stuff all in a shiny collectors case.
Ill be back with more on how the game plays when i get time. _________________
Been watching this game since 3 years in making. Its always been appealing for many reasons.
Far's beta tested the multiplayer so he might be good to ask. He did say however that its only good for single player and multi was pritty good but nothing amazing.
I will buy it at some point but with my new system on the card im kinda waiting to play it in all its glory.
Gameplay is good, you have free roam if u like just picking of bandits and enemy stalkers if u want, do side missions for extra cash or equipment or do the storyline but you arent limited to it which is good and if u fail aspects of the mission the way the game plays after may change or the reward you get altered.
Weapons are a plenty on enemies as they respawn when u load through a new area, but not all reload as the game keeps the dead lying around for sometime until new enemies wander into that area and occupy it.
Theres stashes for your found items which is helpful as u have a carrying capacity like a normal person which is around 50kg or a little more, the more you carry the less stamina and movement you will have.
So that takes the game into another area which is kitting yourself out before wandering the zone, like one rifle a few hundred rounds of ammo and a sidearm with around a 100, but you will find alot of ammo on enemies bodies depending on the rarity of the gun you have got.
bad points are when you overload your weight too much you cannot move at all, bad when u just found a new toy, no indicator or warning for bleeding out which when ur in battle would help alot as if u leave it without bandages you can die.
Not much else i can say but all in all if u like fps with a hint of rpg then this is one sweet game to get and if u have a sweet pc system the graphics are very good.
Iv just got myself an aksu/2 with a grenade launcher attachment and just recieved a scope for a mission to place on any rifle it can mount.unmount on and it makes killing a whole lot better _________________
Well i left it till i completed it and got the very crappy ending out of the 7 available, yes 7 varied endings, circumstances unknown.
Now patched it runs bit better and some bugs are gone but the added armor decay is annoying due to the fact ammo isnt that rare but finding armor is and buying it costs quite a fair bit, other than that i love the game for the searching and exploring.
Currently started a new game save called "rampage", this is the anything that breathes dies hehe, going good so far as most respawn in the area after a while depending if they are main characters, i have found a few modified weapons and stash clues on the guys your not meant to kill but for the love of god i cant find a silencer or gun with a removable one, i only find ones with special mufflers. _________________
